Bangladesh-India border meeting held in Assam

Shawdesh Desk: A meeting of deputy commissioner (DC) and district magistrate (DM) level of two bordering districts of Bangladesh and India was held on Monday in Dhubri district in Assam, India, reports BSS. Kurigram Deputy Commissioner Sultana Parveen led the Bangladesh side at the meeting while Dhubri Deputy Commissioner Anant Lal Gyani led the Indian side. They discussed issues concerning border crimes, setting up of border pillars, border haat and exchange of cultural activities and sports. Kurigram Superintendent of Police (SP) Md Mohibul Islam Khan, Kurigram 22 Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) Battalion Director Lieutenant Colonel Md Jamal Hossain and Bhurungamari Upazila Nirbahi Officer Mehedi Hasan comprised the Bangladeshi delegation. Mankarchar Deputy Commissioner Mosammat Atika Sultana, BSF Captain Lalit Kumar and Dhubri Police Super DD Hajarika, among others, represented the Indian side.
